About the Author

Jesse Feiler has been a user of Macs and Mac software since the beginning in 1984. Through his consulting company, North Country Consulting (www.northcountryconsulting.com), he provides services to small businesses and nonprofits, with an emphasis on FileMaker and Mac OS X.

Active in the community, he has served on a variety of nonprofit boards and projects primarily in community development, the arts, and public libraries. The New York State Association of Library Boards honored him with an award for "exemplary service and dedication to libraries" in part for his role in bringing public access Internet to small rural libraries in upstate New York.

Jesse has written extensively on Mac OS X (and its precursor, Rhapsody), FileMaker, and contemporary technologies such as Facebook applications and Mashups. He lives in Plattsburgh, New York with a rescued greyhound, Trainwreck Toby, who has been absolutely no help on this (or any other)book.
