Ricardo Garay, known by everyone for his last name as “Garay,” is the gaucho we hired to manage our ranch in Patagonia back in 2000, right after we bought it. Short, fit, and slim, tough, alert, and hardworking, he came highly recommended by two people: a farm broker who had lived his whole life in the area and another local who helped us with the initial purchase and takeover of the property.
