Glossary of Master the Art of Execution Terms

  1. EDMED: Every day means every day.
  2. MAP: To write the daily lead measure results on the MAX board.
  3. MAX: The master the art of execution process.
  4. MAX act: A key daily, weekly, or monthly action you take to move toward the TUFs.
  5. MAX board: A board where team members post results of their MAX acts from the prior day.
  6. Prune: The fifth step of MAX. It means to remove what is undesirable to make room for growth.
  7. PSP: A personalized success profile that outlines the daily, weekly, and monthly MAX measures for an individual.
  8. RAM: A rhythm of accountability meeting held each morning where each team member reports and records the prior day's MAX act results on the MAX board.
  9. Realign: The first stage of pruning. To realign time, resources, talent, et cetera away from things that are good but not great, and into areas that are great or have the potential to become great (things that bring you a diminishing return).
  10. Revitalize: The second stage of pruning. To bring back to life unacceptable performances, strategies, processes, et cetera in a last-ditch effort before removing them.
  11. Remove: The third stage of pruning. To remove what no longer brings any value (that for which there is no hope).
  12. TUF: The ultimate few (goals).
