Don’t Be Too Easily Pleased

I had to drive from Boulder to Denver and back a number of times during the week. I always try to shoot when I’m driving (I do stop first most of the time).

I found this tree on the trip and every time I passed it, I’d stop and shoot. I must have done at least 200 shots in different light, with gray skies, with blue skies, with snow, without snow, all different kinds of light. I bracketed and tried different lenses, different viewpoints, and every variation I could think of.

While in the midst of shooting, a car stopped next to mine. The guy gets out, looks at me, looks at the tree, then assumes there must be a good shot there if this schmuck with all the good equipment is shooting it. He goes back to the car, takes ...
