Try for Pics You’ve Never Seen

So, I go down to Venice Beach in L.A. where all the crazies hang out (my people, I identify with them). The tourists in their Hawaiian shirts or dark suits are easily spotted because they look “normal.”

It’s a fruitful place to shoot. There is so much going on. It’s like New York, where, if you f*¢% up one shot, 50 more will happen right after that. It’s a shooting gallery. The weightlifters, the women, and the whackos on skates or skateboards—it’s really Coney Island on steroids.

You can’t plan here. You can only hope to go with the flow. You must enjoy this kaleidoscopic thing and keep open to anything that might happen.
