Keep Looking

When I leave The Bank, which is on Spring and Bowery, I walk west on Spring St., which is toward the number 6 subway.

Halfway there, I almost always stop and take some photos of two trees that grow toward each other. I try to show just the branches against the field of gray. I do not show the tree trunks, nor the fence at the bottom of the frame.

The background is subtle, sometimes with streaks of light, and changes color with the seasons. In order to keep them as identical to each other as possible, I always go up a step or two into a doorway. I’ve done this over the course of the last few years. I’ve shot in snow, rain, summer, fall, winter, spring, etc. I intend to show it as a series someday.
