Where

I’m placing a lot of emphasis on “where” because it is so crucial to the photos we take.

It’s not just a matter of moving a little to the left or right, lying down, or standing up.

These things can incrementally change your image. What can make a major change for you is thinking conceptually about “where.”

You could, for instance, shoot a 180° different point of view. Go completely around the thing you’re shooting and shoot from the opposite point of view. You could shoot it completely from above, which in this case makes it a whole different ball game.

I had photographed this area dozens of times before. The most frequent shots were of parachute jumpers coming out of an old DC-3 that did about 20 trips a day.
