The Gifts Are Always There

Superstorm Sandy ripped off part of my copper rooftop. We were very lucky that we had no major floods or disasters. My assistant, Matt, and my wife patched it up and we still haven’t gotten it permanently fixed.

At the end of each of my workshops at The Bank, we all go up to the roof to shoot, have some drinks, and relax. I watch my students shoot from the place I’ve been shooting from for almost 50 years.

They are all shooting with fresh eyes and sometimes they get stuff I’ve never gotten. I don’t shoot that much, unless something’s going on that’s really new to me. I do, however, wander around and poke my nose in to see what’s going on.
