Light Is What Calls (Out) to You

I’ve always thought that light was the most important part of my image. After all, without light you’ve got nothing.

The light in Jerusalem is tricky. Each morning I was up well before dawn, looking for the best vantage point of the city.

The image you see here was on the only day the cross was lit by the sun. A vertical of this became the cover of the book I was shooting for.

You hear a lot of people talk about the golden hour just before and after sunrise, the wonderful light at sunset, all that gold and red.
