Chapter 11. Produce Capacity Reports

There are two ways people will recognize your capacity management program. The negative way is when lack of capacity causes an important service to fail or exhibit dismal performance, or when the organization realizes that they are using less than 20% of the hardware they have purchased. The positive recognition comes when your well-defined and clearly formatted capacity report demonstrates the value your team is providing. Of course, nobody loves to read IT reports, so it is important that you choose to produce a few high-quality reports rather than generating reams of information that only the most die-hard fan would ever wade through.
