2. The Top-Ten Challenges to Effective Teamwork

Many people believe that the most important factor contributing to success is luck. If you are in the right place, at the right time, and have the right idea, you will succeed. If you are in the wrong place with the right idea at the wrong time, you most probably will fail.

Arguably, luck is a factor of success. However, while some luck is due to the chance occurrence of events, other luck happens because people are prepared to be lucky. We can call this second category of luck “self-initiated luck.” One example of this occurred when researchers gave everyone in a large group a copy of the day’s newspaper and the assignment to count the number of pictures in the newspaper.
