The purpose of this chapter is to explain and assess the implications of EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) to the company, looking at how it has used different EDI methods to share information in the industry and transform supplier/consumer relationships, enabling it to gain competitive advantage.

The majority of the research was in the form of interviews with Andy Watkins, the Retail Technology Manager at Johnsons.
