Design Plan

The single-most important deliverable in the professional practice of designing curriculums is the design plan. This one document holds the wealth of information that needs to be present before any course can be designed or project begun. Design plans are the blueprint for everything that takes place in the practice of ISD. From a single, simple module to a year-long design project, each needs a design plan.

Think of a design plan as the outline for how the course or project will actually be designed. All of the instructional design intent is resident in the design plan. Decisions that will affect every aspect of the design and eventual course product are based on this information.
