What follows is a quick index of various iSCSI-related terms. Much, but not all, of it is from the [iSCSI].

Alias
Allows an organization to associate a user-friendly string with the iSCSI name, but is not a substitute for that name. An alias string can also be associated with an iSCSI node.
CID (connection ID)
A unique ID for a connection within the session. It is generated by the initiator and presented to the target during login and logout request.
Connection
TCP/IP Connection. It is the medium of communication between the initiator and the target. Connections carry control messages, SCSI commands, parameters, and data within iSCSI protocol data units (iPDUs).
