Patterns as Design Tools

In the previous chapter, patterns were used to analyze applications. Now it’s time to design new applications using motivational design patterns. Using patterns in this way not only helps provide the answers to “Why will our audience come back to the application?” but also helps bring such questions to an earlier stage in the design process, avoiding the “If you build it, they will come” design mentality.
