Play Games on an iPod

The iPod is a personal entertainment machine on many levels. All iPod Classic and Nano models have three games: iQuiz, Klondike, and Vortex. (These replace the games on older iPods: Brick, Music Quiz, Parachute, and Solitaire.) If you have a modern iPod, you can also buy and download old-school video games like Ms. Pac-Man, Sudoku, and more from the iPod Games area of the iTunes Store (Chapter 7). To find any of your games, go to iPod→Extras→Games.

iQuiz

Complete with colorful flashing graphics and a cheesy, 70's-style game show soundtrack, iQuiz picks your brain with contemporary multiple-choice questions in several trivia categories: music, movies, and TV. The game brings its own questions to the screen, but also taps into your iPod to find out how much you know about your own music library. For people with older video-playing iPods, iQuiz is also for sale in the iTunes Store.

If you get hooked on these trivial pursuits, you can even create your own questions and sync up new quizzes to your iPod. To do so, take a little trip to www.iquizmaker.com and download Aspyr Media's free iQuiz Maker software for your Mac or PC.

If you just want to take—instead of make—the quizzes, there's also a Quiz Installer program on the site that lets you load new quizzes made by other people onto your iPod.

You can find more details on becoming an iQuiz master at www.apple.com/itunes/store/games/iquiz.html ...
