Chapter 5. Work with Playlists and Burn CDs with iTunes

An iTunes playlist is a compilation of songs (or videos). You might create a playlist for songs you like to listen to as you exercise, songs you want to play at an event, or songs by a particular artist. There is no set limit on the number of playlists you can create. You can also arrange the songs in a playlist however you like, or play them in Shuffle mode.

There are three main types of playlists: standard, which you populate by dragging items from your library to the playlist; a smart playlist, which is generated automatically by iTunes using rules you establish; and Party Shuffle, which is created automatically by iTunes using randomly selected songs.
