When you choose File → Print(⌘-P)in iPhoto, you don’t see the standard Mac OS X Print dialog box—the one that asks you how many copies you want to print, which pages you want included, and so on. (As shown in Figure 8-2, you must click Advanced Options to see these controls.)

As mentioned earlier, the “advanced” printing options that appear when you click the Advanced Options button in the Print dialog box aren’t really advanced. They’re the standard, everyday options that you find in the Print dialog box when printing from any other Mac OS X program, as shown in Figure 8-2.

You can safely ignore many of these options, which vary depending on which printer you’re using. For example, unless you’re using a fancy printer equipped with multiple paper trays and double-sided printing capabilities, there’s no need to concern yourself with the Duplex and Paper Feed options. The Error Handling panel, which appears if you’re using a PostScript printer, controls arcane details about how your printer reports PostScript errors; you’ll be happier if you don’t even think about it. And the Summary panel is just a window showing your current printer settings, with nothing to turn on or off.

Some of these other printing options are more useful:
