If the Enhance tool isn’t doing the job—maybe you feel its results are too harsh—undo your enhancements and turn to the tools in the Adjust pane (see page 58).

And speaking of the Adjust pane, if you happen to open it right after you click the Enhance button, you’ll see its sliders have moved from their default positions, indicating exactly what changes iPhoto has made to improve the image. This can be a good way to learn about image enhancement and improve your own skills with the Adjust pane.
