What Can I Do to Improve My Photos?

One of the best things about digital photographs is that you can edit them. iPhoto includes a suite of editing tools you can use to correct problems or make enhancements. You can edit in several modes, such as within iPhoto, in a separate window, or in full screen mode. Whichever mode you choose, the same powerful set of editing tools is available to you. If you prefer to use a different photo-editing application, you can configure iPhoto to use that application when you edit photos automatically.

Working in iPhoto's Edit Mode

When you edit photos, you select the photos you want to edit and then use iPhoto's Edit mode to make changes. In this mode, the application's editing tools appear on its Editing toolbar. The Edit mode has several different interfaces, and several actions trigger it; you can choose the options you prefer. Before you start making too many changes, you need to understand how the edits you make in a photo can impact your iPhoto projects and how to create duplicates in the event you want multiple versions of the same photo in your library. No matter how extensive the changes to a photo are, you can always go back to the original version; that is, you can always undo your editing work if needed.
