Chapter 5. Sending and Receiving E-Mail and Text Messages with Your iPhone

Over the last several years, e-mail and text messaging have become primary methods of communicating. If you have access either to the AT&T Edge network or to a wireless network, you can use your iPhone to send and receive e-mail and text messages. To determine whether you have access to a network, look for a small E or a WiFi symbol along the top of the iPhone screen.

When you reply to an e-mail or text message, or create a new e-mail or text message, the iPhone displays an onscreen keyboard.
