Your iPhone is not only great for listening to music and podcasts, but it’s also great for watching music videos, video podcasts, movies, television shows, and lectures from iTunes U, not to mention for watching the home movies you make with the video recorder built in to your iPhone.

Apple developed pixels that are 78 micrometers wide and a pixel density of 326 pixels per inch. The Retina display uses in-plane switching (IPS) that offers a wider viewing angle and an 800 to 1 contrast ratio, which means brighter whites and darker blacks. LED backlighting and the ambient light sensor adjusts the image to let you see it best in the light available. If you’re worried about scratches and fingerprints — don’t be. The Retina display is made of super-durable, scratch-resistant, oleophobic (fingerprint-resistant) glass. To you, all this means crisp, clear images and type.
