Conclusions
As successive versions appear, the iPad will only become more and more powerful and flexible, and its musical applications will become more and more diverse. At the time of writing, the main omission is still a powerful multichannel recording studio along the lines of Steinberg Cubase or Apple Logic. GarageBand on the iPad is an extremely limited substitute and is not receiving regular updates from Apple, and the other multichannel recorders that do exist don’t offer built-in synthesizers or MIDI recording.
