2.2. The SNIA Shared Storage Model

To clarify the roles of new storage networking technologies and applications, the SNIA has been developing a shared storage architectural model. The Shared Storage Model is a work-in-progress of the SNIA Technical Council, which in turn is composed of technologists from a variety of SNIA member companies.

An architectural model provides value by abstracting a complex technology into its most basic components.
