Chapter 3. Discontiguous Networks, Summarization, and Subnet 0

This chapter groups together several concepts that affect network connectivity directly by altering the content of routing information shared between routers. These effects may be useful or detrimental, depending on how they are applied. These concepts are usually considered together in order to fully explain their interaction. This chapter covers discontiguous networks, subnet 0, and summarization, as the chapter title implies. Chapter 4, "Using IP Unnumbered and VLSM," continues this discussion.
