Summary

The tactics you employ for managing an address space are absolutely critical in the successful long-term management of an address space. As I constantly remind my graduate students, there are precious few absolutes in internetworking. Picking the “right” approach requires that you have a solid command not only of the technology but also the context in which you are applying and managing it. The approaches described throughout this chapter are not the only ways to manage an address space. Other approaches exist that are highly implementation-specific.
