Many sovereigns have provided a variety of economic incentives to encourage building of solar photovoltaic or solar-powered utility parks to augment the primary grid. Germany is among those Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) countries actively promoting renewable energy alternatives. In the German market, various incentives were provided to project sponsors for implementation of solar-based power generation under the German Renewables Energy Act.
