Canadian Natural Gas Markets

Like the United States, Canada holds significant reserves in the unconventional shale plays throughout the country. These reserves are part of the North Dakota play known as the Bakken. The Canadian side of the Bakken is as prolific as the United States as these shale gases extend northward into Canada. The provinces of Alberta and British Columbia have several shale plays including the Horn River and others.

In the current environment, Canadian natural gas producers face the same challenges as U.S. producers do.
