The potential growth in the unconventional natural gas shale plays in the U.S. and Canadian markets have the ability to secure energy sources for a decade in North America. Over the next decade, the potential reserves associated with these shale plays could triple the existing U.S. reserve base.
Essentially, current reserves of nearly 200 tcf (according to the Energy Information Administration [EIA]) could top 600 tcf over the next decade.
