Capital Expenditure Planning

Capital expenditure planning differs from large-cap integrated majors such as many IOCs to small-cap oil juniors. The key is to have a portfolio of producing assets within a variety of life cycles. In other words, it is critical to oil and gas producers to have early-stage assets with future growth potential as well as more mature assets that are at or near peak production. In addition, many of the integrated majors and other large independents will have assets that are in the pure research stage of development. This is a costly endeavor not often undertaken by micro-cap or small-cap firms.
