Strings, Wire Sizing, and protection

PHOTOVOLTAIC (PV) SYSTEMS GENERATE electricity. What is important for you to clearly grasp is the relationship between the PV panels and strings and how they interact with the inverter. In design, you are tasked with either designing for the National Electrical Code (NEC) or designing beyond the Code for high-performance PV system output.

In designing for the Code, you will use string sizers to meet the 2011 Code requirements.
