AUTHOR BIOS

Ron Melicher is a professor of finance and previously served three different terms as chair of the Finance Division, Leeds School of Business, University of Colorado at Boulder. He earned undergraduate, M.B.A., and doctoral degrees from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. While at the University of Colorado, he has received several distinguished teaching awards and was designated a university-wide President's Teaching Scholar. Ron teaches corporate finance and financial strategy in the M.B.A. and Executive M.B.A. programs, in addition to entrepreneurial finance and investment banking to undergraduate students. His research has been published in major finance journals, including the Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, and Financial Management. He is also the coauthor of Entrepreneurial Finance, third edition (South-Western/Cengage Learning).

Edgar A. Norton is professor of finance in the College of Business at Illinois State University. He holds a double major in computer science and economics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and received his M.S. and Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign. A Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), he regularly receives certificates of achievement in the field of investments. He has consulted with COUNTRY Financial, Maersk, and the CFA Institute; does pro bono financial planning; and is a past president of the Midwest Finance Association.
