Wavelet-Based Image Compression

16.1 Overview

In this chapter we examine the implementations of several wavelet-based image compression schemes. We begin with the earliest, the embedded zerotree wavelet coder, and then look at an image coder based on set partitioning, and finally, we look at JPEG2000—the latest image compression standard.
