The Android IDE (a special version of the Eclipse IDE with the ADT plugin preinstalled) is included as part of the Android ADT Bundle. The Android IDE (Eclipse) is one of the most popular development environments for Android developers. In this appendix, we provide a number of helpful tips and tricks for using the Android IDE to develop Android applications quickly and effectively. Even though you may choose to utilize your own copy of Eclipse and manually install the ADT plugin yourself, the instructions provided within this chapter apply to using either the Android IDE or Eclipse with ADT.
