24.1 Introduction

The disposal and recycling of aerospace materials is an important issue in the whole-of-life management of aircraft. The use of sustainable materials is becoming more important as the aerospace industry moves towards a ‘cradle-to-beyond the grave’ approach in the management of aircraft.
