The Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) is a relatively new addition to .NET and is an alternative to Windows Forms for creating user interfaces. WPF and Windows Forms both continue to be developed and supported by Microsoft, but WPF receives more of Microsoft's love and attention.

On one hand, there is nothing you can do with WPF that you can't also do with Windows Forms.
