Foreword

I found out about Revit in 2000 when I attended a local CSI meeting (Construction Specification Institute, not the TV Series). The presenter, from the AIA (American Institute of Architects) office in Washington D.C. was charged with enticing us all to embrace more acronyms, specifically the NCS/UDS (National CAD Standard/Uniform Drawing System). After doing his best we all enjoyed a light meal during which several of us baited him with the question, "Which CAD software is better?" We offered him the two "obvious" choices, and he responded, "Neither, you should check out Revit! Go visit www.revit.com. It is the future."

Little did I know at the time how prophetic he was, not only about the software, but also about how personal that future ...
