Binding the Date Picker Control

The date picker control is self-explanatory, but XML Schema’s representation of the xsd:date, xsd:dateTime, and xsd:time datatypes deserves a bit more detail. As mentioned in Chapter 4, the XML Schema Part 2: Datatypes recommendation uses International Standards Organization (ISO) 8601 format to specify date, time, or date and time instances. (The xsd:duration datatype specifies date and time intervals.)

The ISO 8601 format for date and time is CCYY-MM-DDThh:mm:ss, where CC is the century, YY is the year, MM is the month, and DD is the day of the month.
