Chapter 6. Adding Basic Controls and Lists

In this chapter, you will learn how to:

  • Classify controls by type, associate controls with field data types, and set property values that are common to most controls

  • Add conventional and rich text boxes, hyperlinks, and three types of lists to your form

  • Describe the format of XML Schema’s date and dateTime datatypes

  • Create drop-down lists and list boxes with items populated from data you type or add from secondary data sources

  • Add option buttons to option groups and insert check boxes bound to True/False (boolean) fields

  • Use XPath expressions to display calculated numeric values in expression boxes, and add Base64-encoded images and ink drawings to forms
