A

active rigid body

A dynamic object that is affected by fields and collisions.

aim constraint

Forces the rotations of an object always to point toward the position of another object or to the average of the positions of several objects.

alpha channel

The channel of an image file that defines areas of transparency. The alpha channel is expressed in grayscale.

ambient lights

Cast an even light throughout a scene.

ambient occlusion

A rendering function that creates a typically black-and-white image to measure the amount of light that is occluded (blocked) at the intersection between objects, which is very useful for contact shadows.
