Chapter 13Implementing a publishing policy

Encouraging the adoption of such best practice is often achieved through establishing an organisation-wide publishing policy. Providing templates and guidelines for authors to adhere to, when publishing content on the Intranet, can help dramatically to improve the appearance of the Intranet, whilst also speeding up the process of generating the content itself. Specific advantages of introducing publishing policies, in addition to those already mentioned in the previous chapter may include:

  • people have more faith in something that looks official and in the corporate format
  • help ensure that the content can be read by all different types of browsers
