Stage 3: Control

Once critical mass has been achieved it is essential that relevance and currency of information and data can be guaranteed. If these policies are not in place the following problems begin to arise:

  • ‘dead’ hyperlinks
  • dated information becomes misinformation
  • lack of cohesion and connectedness between new and existing content
  • information overload on the part of the end-user
  • navigating and locating content becomes ever more difficult

If this state goes unchecked the user population will start to mistrust the integrity and value of the content, which in turn will quickly lead to ever decreasing states of stagnation.
