Organizing Content

When you've considered the system requirements, you're ready to plan the organization of your Web data. I can't stress enough how important content organization is. You must consider the physical location of your Web data and space allocation before you start to just populate the server with data.

Internet Information Services creates the following default directory structure on the partition you designate for data: D:\INETPUB\. . . . Under the INETPUB are directories for various features of Internet Information Services, such as the . . . \WWWRoot and . . . \FTPRoot directory.
