About the Author

Steve Dawson, CPA, CFE, is the founder and president of the Dawson Forensic Group of Lubbock, Texas. For over three decades, he has performed forensic investigations, internal control design consulting, accounting records reconstruction, litigation support services, and forensic training services for various agencies and industries located throughout the United States.

He began his career in 1984 serving on the audit staff at one of the nation’s top 400 accounting firms, the Lubbock, Texas, auditing firm Bolinger, Segars, Gilbert & Moss. He became a partner of the firm in 1994, a position he held until his retirement in 2011. Mr. Dawson obtained his certified public accountant certificate in 1987 and his certified fraud examiner certificate in 2001.

Mr. Dawson has performed numerous forensic investigations and litigation support services for agencies such as the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Texas Rangers, and other local, state, and federal regulatory agencies. He also performs forensic services for private companies throughout the United States.
