In addition to planning for what you will be doing, consider planning for what students will be doing for the duration of your class session. Many of the techniques we describe in Part 3 of this text will help you identify activities that will keep students active and engaged during the lecture. Adapting a Lecture Plan to include what students will be doing is a relatively simple task, and so in this Tip we encourage Double Planning; that is, we recommend identifying learner activities in advance as you make your formal lecture plans.
