Operating system maintenance
This chapter describes how to apply software maintenance to the operating system (OS) of deployed pattern instances, which includes virtual system instances and virtual application instances, also referred to as workloads.
The ability to apply software maintenance to a running, production-level OS in a consistent and repeatable manner is a common and sensible requirement. Simply redeploying a newer version of a Virtual System Pattern (VSP) or a virtual application pattern is often not wanted or possible.
