Summary

At this point, I hope you can see how to use the data in Access and Excel in other applications that expose an object model. Because Microsoft Office is the dominant productivity suite, this type of automation can be put to use at most companies. There are only very small differences between the object models in Office versions 97 through Office 2003, so most of the code can be used in other versions of Office. The last point to make is that Microsoft provides very good documentation of the object models for the applications in the help file. This documentation often includes small code samples that show how to use the objects, methods, and properties.
