Export and Encode Options

Once you’ve finished your surround sound mix, turn your attention to delivering your sonic masterpiece to the world. This chapter examines exporting the files for encoding with separate, standalone software and encode options that may be built in to your authoring software.

Export to Multiple Files

Encoding software usually accepts the individual six channels that comprise your surround sound mix. In this situation, you need to export each channel as a standalone monaural file. Your encoder will indicate the desired format, usually either .wav or .aiff.
