Justification Settings

The Minimum and Maximum values define a range of acceptable spacing for justified paragraphs only. The Desired value defines the desired spacing for both justified and unjustified paragraphs

InDesign’s justification settings determine how words and letters are spaced and how characters are scaled in an attempt to achieve even word and letter spacing. You can apply different settings to individual paragraphs in a document to have more control over the appearance of paragraphs as different fonts are used. To modify the settings, choose Justification from the Paragraph or Control panel menu (Figure 10.22). Make changes to the following settings as needed:
