Paragraph and Character Styles

Paragraph and character styles are collections of typographical attributes that can be applied to text with a single click. Character styles contain character-level formatting and paragraph styles contain both character-level and paragraph-level formatting (Figure 10.36). As their names imply, paragraph styles are applied to entire paragraphs and character styles are applied to specific characters and words within paragraphs. When you modify a style sheet, all the text to which it is applied instantly updates with the new changes. If you’ve avoided style sheets in the past, it’s a good time to embrace them now and make them part of every template you create.
